Join us for a FREE therapeutic art workshop on theater performance for 4th-8th grade students!This program will be an introduction to basic performance skills. Through a series of exercises, games, and work with dramatic texts, students will develop skills for harnessing their bodies and voices to portray characters, work with an ensemble, and tell a story. The program will culminate in a final performance that will include opportunities for the students to present a combination of originally-generated material and interpreted texts based on a theme determined by the students and facilitators.
Schedule: The program will meet twice weekly over a 6-week period, and a production week that will include a dress rehearsal, final performance, and reception. Each session will last 90-minutes, and the dress rehearsal will be 3 hours.
