Kids’ Emotional Regulation Summer GroupAges: 6-9yrs
Group Size: 6-8 participants
Dates: Mondays, Aug 5-26
Times: 4:30-5:30 PM
Cost: $85 per person includes all 4 weeks and materials
Group members must be able to follow basic instructions and participate in group activities. This group is not intended for children with severe behavioral issues.
Goals:
Children who learn to regulate their emotions often experience increased executive function, resulting in less frequent emotional outbursts, more positive social interactions, and better school performance. This four-session group experience will provide opportunities for participants to:
·learn adaptive ways to self-regulate uncomfortable emotions through somatic, dialectical-behavioral, art, and mindfulness modalities.
·expand their emotional vocabulary, intelligence, and awareness through play, art, psychoeducation, and somatic experiencing.
·expand their social skills in a safe space.
