Kid's STEM Crazy Cardboard Contraptions Art Class

In this class, young artists will design a cardboard sculpture that will Swoop, Spin, Swirl, or Swivel.

Artists (ages 6 and up) will plan and create their own whimsical and wonderful creation using cardboard, paper, and other repurposed household items. The sculpture will move due to a simple crank mechanism, spinning gear, or a push and pull tab.

Class cost: $40 ( supplies included)

Instructor Bio: Shannon Johnson is an elementary teacher with over 30 years of classroom and summer camp experience. She is currently the science/STEM teacher at Episcopal School of Jacksonville-Beaches Campus, where she teaches students to design and create using Design Thinking and the Engineering Design Process. Students are encouraged to imagine, plan and create in a way that builds confidence and ingenuity.
