Kids SCUBA Camp is a week-long program for children ages 13-17 developing fundamental knowledge and skills to safely SCUBA dive in the open ocean. Sponsored by National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), the City of Sunrise, and Aquanauts SCUBA Academy your child will finish up the week with not only a lifetime SCUBA certification, but will also have knowledge of marine conservation. Breakfast and lunch is provided daily during the camp.
Two ticket options available. You can see them both at the ticket link. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/kids-jr-scuba-camp-for-special-needs-children-tickets-761353267117
Option 1: Self sponsor : $2,270
Option 2: Scholarship : Registration fee $95, and then you would submit a scholarship application at : www.adaptivescubaprograms.org/ScholarshipApplication
Scholarships are available for kids with special needs. This includes autism, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, blindness, paraplegia, quadriplegia, etc. If you are able to self sponsor, any additional will go to cover attendance for a child whose family cannot. If you would just like to donate to make the program available for others that need it, but don't have a child attending, you can make a donation to the program here: https://adaptivescubaprograms.fnpcares.com/donations
In an age where everything is on e-learning and distance learning, we provide the full experience for your children with in-classroom development and individualized attention from a well-qualified instructor and volunteers as needed for your child's special attention needs.
Just after becoming immersed in practical SCUBA lessons and theory of the underwater environment you’ll be prepared to dive the oceans confidently and safely. Once completed you'll be capable to go explore and discover new dive sites around the world in “Aquatic Adventures”.
Not only is this camp great for their socialization and wonderful exercise. Breathing on the compressed air at depth provides for an increase in the production serotonin delivered to the spine. This results in increased mobility, lessened pain, and elevated mood. It is great for people with spinal cord injuries, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, and so many more impairments both physical and mental.
Let your child explore the freedom of the ocean!
