This one-hour introductory pottery wheel class is designed especially for kids who are curious about clay and want to give the wheel a try for the very first time. Guided by Nesta, kids will learn the basics of working on the pottery wheel and create a simple form in a fun, supportive environment that focuses on exploration rather than perfection. No prior experience is needed.
(We've tried doing younger than 7 but they simply don't have the arm reach or strength to successfully do the wheel, trust us we've tried! We offer handbuilding classes for our younger kiddos that are much more successful.)
Parents or guardians are asked to stay on site during the class, and comfortable seating will be provided. All materials are included, and each child’s piece will be fired after class, making it food safe and ready for pickup approximately 2–3 weeks later.
