Kids in Dog Sports | Barn Hunt

There are many young people interested in learning about dog training and dog sports. We want to bridge the gap and provide support for kids aged 7 to 17 years of age who want to explore these topics. These programs will be a great way to get started while learning with other kids close to their age.
Barn Hunt Workshop
This event is for children from 7 to 17 years of age interested in getting to know more about dog training and dog sports. This 90-minute workshop will focus on the dog sport, Barn Hunt. Barn Hunt is where dogs search out hidden pet rats (safely in tubes) in a barn setting. It’s all about having fun, letting dogs be dogs.
The children in attendance will learn about the sport itself, the care of the rats, and get to work with a dog (if they want to bring their own dog, they must be pre-approved).
Barn Hunt allows children to compete as long as they can do all the things required for any competitor.
A guardian is required to attend for anyone under 13.
