Ages 6 - 12

Join us this summer for Kids Garden Days! We’ll be learning about the many pieces of the garden that come together to make it thrive. We’ll hear from guest speakers and engage in educational, STEAM activities and art projects.

Max. 10 children per class. This is not a drop-off class. Parents are required to stay during the duration of the class and encouraged to participate. See you in the garden!

Schedule subject to change. Virtual option may be available on days weather does not permit.

Suggested donation $5 per child.

Make sure you register for each day you are attending.

7/22 Nature Hunt & Weaving

Join us for a scavenger hunt through the garden while learning about plant identification with the app iNaturalist and gather natural materials to weave in our looms.

7/29 Plants & Geography

Let’s learn about the plants growing in the garden, cultural relevance / use, and where they originally came from. We will share our knowledge by creating interactive signs for the public.

8/5 Bug Hunt

We are going on a bug hunt! Let’s learn about ecosystems and identify bugs with the iNaturalist app. We will figure out if they are friends or foes and later release some friends and make some fun art!

8/12 Bees & Pollinator Water

Our beekeepers will be teaching us about honey bees and all the things needed in a pollinator habitat. We will begin crafting Pollinator Water Dishes.

8/19 Monarchs Migration

Let’s learn about monarch migration and habitats while playing a fun game of habitat hopscotch and doing some butterfly art!

8/26 Compost Recipe

Bring some food scraps from home and learn the science behind composting and finding the perfect compost recipe!

9/2 Birds & Feeders

Do you know about our local birds and what they eat? Let’s explore and make some bird feeders and ornaments.

9/9 Wind Power

Explore the power of wind through art by making some beautiful kites and pinwheels!

9/16 Nature Patterns

Look far and zoom close to find some cool patterns in the garden while learning about biodiversity. See if you can copy these patterns through some fun art and leaf rubbings.

9/23 Nature Art

Ever try to make your own paint and brushes from nature? Let’s go on a nature walk and find some art materials to make some nature inspired art!
