Mezzo Soprano and Music Educator Michaela Wright, Mezzo-Soprano is reprises her recital of classical music for kids in this interactive showcase of classical music written by, for, and in honor of kids that is anything but boring.
Featured on the recital are composers Leonard Bernstein, Avril Coleridge Taylor, Aaron Copland, and Richard Rodney Bennett.
Kiddos, bring your adults as well!
About Michaela:
Having recently performed a longer version of this recital for children on Moon River Opera 's Spring Recital Series, Michaela Wright is bringing exciting classical, vocal music to the kids (and kids at heart) of Central Florida. Through finger puppetry, play, and interactive learning elements like ASL, Wright seeks to make the music accessible to all.
Michaela Wright is a Mezzo-Soprano and voice teacher based in Orlando, Florida. Her drive for advocacy-led performances has guided her to work with organizations such as Central Florida Vocal Arts, Boulanger Initiative, and Protestra.
She is proud to have performed with companies including Opera Orlando, Opera del Sol, Moon River Opera, Lyric Theatre Illinois, Opera Steamboat, Sinfonia da Camara, and Orlando Sings. She has also had the privilege of performing with orchestras such as The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, The Prague National Theatre Orchestra, The Villages Philharmonic, and the The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.
Some of her favorite engagements include Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice,) Hansel (Hansel and Gretel,) Igor Stravinsky (No. 5 world premier,) Alto Soloist (Handel’s Messiah,) The Fox (Cunning Little Vixen,) Alto Soloist (Mozart Requiem,) Mycelia (Sensorium Ex Workshop, Beth Morrison Project,) and Baseball: A Musical Love Letter.
