Join the circus this summer!In this five-day camp in Spokane, kids age 7-11 will learn fundamentals of several circus skills, including:
~ Aerial Silks
~ Aerial Sling
~ Aerial Lyra
~ Hand Stands
~ Tumbling & Basic Acrobatics
~ Hula Hooping Tricks
~ Juggling
Instructors will intersperse crafts, games, and snack time between strenuous activities. Kids will even have the chance to make their own professional-quality hula hoop (to keep!).
PRICE: Valued at over $450 for 15 hours of instruction and materials, the price is just $395 for this camp!Camp fee is non-refundable and not prorated for partial camp attendance. In some cases, studio credit may be offered for cancellation.
DAILY SCHEDULE
8:45am ~ Drop-off
8:45 - 9:00am ~ Stretching and warm-up
9:00 - 9:45am ~ Aerial silks class
9:45 - 10:00am ~ Break/snack time
10:00 - 10:45am ~ Rotating special topic / ground class
10:45 - 11:00am ~ Break/snack time
11:00 - 11:45am ~ Rotating aerial class (sling/lyra)
11:45am ~ Pick-up (sign out inside)
SAFETY: Thick crash pads are always used under the silks, and students should be prepared to learn safety rules. Two instructors will be present for spotting physical activities and managing the group.
PARENTS: When registering your child, please create an account in their name. Use your email and billing address, but their name and information. Please sign the liability waiver on behalf of your child.
WHAT TO BRING: Please dress appropriately (see below), and bring water each day. Students should bring snacks for break time; a fridge is available if needed.
WHAT TO WEAR?Long leggings or tights with shorts are recommended on aerial silks. Ensure that your belly and armpits are covered for comfort and ease; the fabric will be pressed against these areas in some postures where the skin is sensitive.
Long hair should be tied back, fingernails must be of a reasonable trimmed length, and absolutely no jewelry should be worn during class; this is both for your safety and to prevent tears in our aerial silks. Bring a water bottle and a towel for sweat if necessary.
LOCATION: The Guardian ~ 1403 N Washington St
The Guardian is a renovated church on Washington Street, just north of downtown Spokane. Please park on the street and enter through the main doors on Sinto at the corner of Sinto and Washington.
