Kid's Crochet (Ages 10+)
Calling all young makers! This one-hour beginner class introduces kids ages 10 and up to the joyful world of crochet. In a relaxed, encouraging setting, students will learn the foundational stitches and techniques as they create a bookmark for Summer reading.
No experience necessary — just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
Ages 10+
An adult must be onsite during class.
What You'll Learn
How to hold your yarn and hook
The chain stitch
Single crochet
Slip stitch
How to fasten off
Supplies
All supplies are included!
Each student will receive worsted weight cotton yarn and a crochet hook
Homework
None required! A written pattern will be provided in class, and a video tutorial will be shared afterward so students who don't finish during class time can complete their project at home at their own pace.
About the Instructor
Becka is the founder of Radiant Beans, a fiber art business focused primarily on crochet pieces. She has worked to perfect her craft for the past 19+ years and has hundreds of happy customers wearing her pieces and displaying her work. Over the last 4 years, Becka has hosted crochet classes in Portland, OR, Vancouver, WA, and at Flock Fiber Fest. She is passionate about making her students feel comfortable and meeting them where they are in their fiber journey, and she strives to make learning a new skill fun and engaging. A resident of Vancouver, WA, Becka divides her time between Radiant Beans, gardening, baking bread, and taking care of her two sons — the Beans.
Cancellations
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the class start time are eligible for a full refund. Those made after 48 hours are eligible for store credit only.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of class are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend due to illness and notify us before the class begins, we may offer store credit at our discretion.
Due to limited seating and instructor scheduling, no-shows are not eligible for refunds or credit.
Class may be cancelled/rescheduled for low attendance. In the event of cancellation, you will receive the option for a refund or transfer into the rescheduled class.
