Go on a USA state tour without leaving Cache Valley! Students study a different state each session through a thematic and multisensory approach. Creative Corner is an exciting, fast-paced art class where students will learn to appreciate fine arts by studying a famous artist's style and then making their own masterpiece. Students will also learn terms in relation to the art project including types of mediums, art tools, types of colors, artwork positions, media positions, shades and tints. Social studies will be explored through utilizing an atlas, discussing time zones, playing cultural games and learning about foods from across the USA. Communication skills will be practiced through students' presenting their artwork to each other. Parents/guardians will receive a class summary at the end of each session that includes a popular recipe from that state as an extended learning opportunity at home.Notes
Price includes art supplies, parent handouts, art portfolio and annual art expo.
Class Requirements
No gum or flip flops are permitted. Art projects can get messy, so dress accordingly.
