Expanded workshop descriptions:
FCBD Style Fast Sword Stylizations: We will present various sword dance movements rooted in FCBD® Style fast dynamic movements. Kido has innovated numerous exclusive versions and varied sequences of fast sword techniques. This training focuses on all-round professional dance skills, far beyond simple sword balancing above the head.
In this exclusive workshop, students will learn a wealth of distinctive dance combos and choreograph a full integrated dance piece. Upon the conclusion of the course, all attendees will join Kido on stage and showcase the finished sword dance to the audience during the evening live performance.
Baladi with Zils: After years of in-depth belly dance study and training, Kido’s musical comprehension and stylistic expression are deeply rooted in traditional Oriental dance. He has devoted extensive research to the classic Baladi style, and created numerous distinctive Baladi technique combinations matched perfectly with zils rhythm.
The integration of zil beats and body movements, along with multi-dimensional musical interpretation, endows dance works with richer layers and artistic vitality. Kido’s unique Baladi style is defined by ease and natural relaxation, just like wandering comfortably across the desert land.
In this workshop, participants will master various dance combinations and their variations, and complete a full set of finished choreography. After the class, please prepare your dance robes and join us to perform on stage together!
Fusion Belly Dance with Zils
This is an engaging fusion dance workshop featuring a variety of combos. We will explore multiple styles and drill to achieve perfect coordination of zils with movements. Please come with an open mind and ready to engage creatively, and we will explore distinct variations covering Indian Fusion, Flamenco Fusion, Jazz Fusion, Tribal Fusion and ATS Fusion.
Students should come prepared to study and drill intensely: we will learn two exclusive combos for each dance style, forming a complete collection of ten dance sets in total! These combos are suitable for integration into both solo and troupe dancing.
FCBD®Style Special Formations
Plenty of distinctive formation variations have been created throughout over ten years of teamwork and stage performances by Tribal Witch®, the dance troupe founded by Kido Sun. Kido is eager to share the marvelous interweaving formations and diverse fade transitions his troupe has become known for, including Diagonal Fade, Regular Fade and Cross Stream Formation.
The formation arrangement is just like deploying troops in a game of chess, featuring precise footwork and rigorous directional steps. In addition to learning these unique movement patterns to incorporate in your troupe’s dancing, a valuable takeaway from learning group formations is cultivating a choreographer’s panoramic vision, broadening artistic thinking, and enhancing overall organizing and coordinating capabilities for each dancer in the group.
