Kidical Mass is a FREE family-friendly ride with a festival atmosphere, showing that we want to cycle - we need safe spaces to do so.We welcome kids of any age (0-100), on any type of bike* - bike seats, bikes with stabilisers, trailers, trikes, cargos, tagalongs, bmx, unicycles...
It's a fun cycle round the city centre, where kids can enjoy cycling as a group and improve their confidence on the road in a safe environment - at the same time demonstrating the need for safe, segregated, joined-up cycle paths so that everyone can move safely around our city.
(We ask that children are accompanied and that you're self-sufficient and responsible for any children you bring along. However, we'll ride as a group and there will be adults to lead the ride and help navigate any traffic.)
*We'll do a special lap of the park with any balance bikers, but then suggest slower riders on balance bikes can stay, craft, play and read some lovely cycle books, while the rest ride the streets.
Meet in Chapelfield Gardens from 12:30 to make some flags for your bikes!
