About this Event

the 1 or the 9 presents kickback & create: to see and be seen

Join us in Ridgewood for an afternoon of portrait photography, connection, and community.

kickback & create is a distraction-free creative hang designed to bring New Yorkers together to make something and connect. This time, we're exploring portrait photography and what it feels like to both see and be seen.

You’ll pair up with another guest and take turns behind and in front of the camera, with guidance from a featured photographer to get you started. No photography experience needed. Bring your camera phone or digital camera, come as you are, and leave with portraits of each other.

What to expect:
• A beginner-friendly portrait photography demo
• Take turns as photographer and subject
• Time to make portraits around the space
• Share your photos directly with each other
• A small, intimate group of 15–18 people
• Indoor, rain or shine

Location: Rockella Space, Ridgewood, Queens
Date: Sunday, October 25
Time: 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM
What to bring: A camera phone or digital camera

This event is hosted by Rockella Space and supported by RRASP (Rockella Residency & Arts Support Program).
