Kick-off Meeting for interdisciplinary research hub dedicated to AI for Health Decision-Making
About this Event

Over the next 15 years, health expenditures are expected to outpace GDP growth in almost every OECD country. With AI, we can increase efficiency in healthcare and improve quality and safety. Although still in its infancy, the use of AI in healthcare has enormous potential: it can be used to automate routine and simple tasks and to support decision-making for complex problems.

UvA Research Priority Area AI for Health Decision-Making aims at strengthening the responsible development and application of AI in healthcare. This initiative brings together researchers from the fields of Science, Medicine, Law and the Humanities. To achieve this goal, UvA and Amsterdam UMC have established an interdisciplinary research hub by pooling expertise and resources from different faculties and incorporating them into their long-term research plans. This effort aims to expand the use of AI in health decision-making beyond the domains of science and health faculties to create a truly interdisciplinary project.

The program consortium is pleased to announce the AI for Health Decision-Making kick-off meeting. Talks by our guest speakers will be interspersed with individual and collaborative project presentations from PhD students. This kick-off meeting will provide an excellent opportunity for researchers, students, and industry professionals to connect, share ideas, and collaborate on the development of this exciting research field. We invite all interested parties to attend and contribute to this important conversation.
