Fee: Free - it’s free to come and learn and utilise the space. However it costs 100kr/person to join the draft, which is the cost price for your new cards that you also get to keep.

10:00-13:00
Learn magic. Basic rules, best practices for drafting - pickorder, curve, set mechanics. Practice games with pre-made decks from the Bloomburrow set (helps to recognize pictures for later).
3 hours pass fast! in the magic-bubble. Good advice - come early if you are learning from scratch. Come early either way.
13:00-19:00:
Draft. 1.5-2 hours
A draft consists of two games in one. The draft itself; Passing booster packs around the table, pick the best card for you out of 14, pass the remainder, receive the next booster now with 13 cards, pick the best for you and pass along. Continue till everyone at the table reach 42 cards. You have now built a deck of cards you will play with a coherent strategy or theme (or idea🫠). These are the cards you will play with.
A good drafter masters a mix of knowledge, analytical skills, creativity and ability to read tells.
Match. 4+ hours
Playing with your deck of cards. One against one. One match takes from 30mins to 2 hours. We may time cap on the day depending on people and vibe. Priority will be given to beginners and good vibes.
It is possible to join both learning and drafting or just the one that suits you.
IF — you have never played magic before, you need to come early to build a minimum skill level to play later. A workaround can be to match beginners up with experienced players to play as a team. Unlike other boardgames it takes a little effort to learn - which also keeps the game fun once you get a hold of it.
Be mindful that Bræt Cafe is a commercial boardgame cafe. It is free for us to organise the game here. Don’t hesitate to get yourself a drink in the bar.. we may do a “rematch”if it is a success.
