Do you enjoy Japanese culture, arts, and food? Do you want to learn more?
The New Zealand-Japan Society of Auckland Inc. (NZJS) is hosting “Kia Ora Japan” – a celebration of Japanese arts, culture, craft, and food.
This free community event will feature a programme of performers, including Haere Mai Taiko drumming group, Akane, Sakura Choir, and Kotone.
We will also have Tea Ceremony demonstrations, with tickets available to purchase for this activity. This charge is to cover the cost of the materials.
Free culture workshops will offer the chance to try Japanese calligraphy, origami, fluid art, and Japanese toys.
It’s a free, fun day for people of all ages!
Kia Ora Japan will be held at Gracecity Church, 17 Marewa Road, Greenlane, on 8 August 2026 from 10am to 2:30 pm.
Please note: PARKING IS LIMITED at the venue, so please consider using public transport where possible. The Greenlane train station is a short walk away, and there are regular buses stopping near Woolworths Greenlane.
