On Sunday February 23rd, Super Abari Game Bar and friends are hosting a the second installment of an annual charity raffle and pinball tournament in remembrance of our friend Kevin Shanus. Kevin passed on October 21st, 2023 unexpectedly and left a huge hole in the hearts of pinball players in the Carolinas and surrounding states. Kevin’s passion for pinball was infectious and lead many people, including ourselves, to learn to love the hobby. Kevin was responsible for establishing North Carolina as a pinball destination with his dedication to running multiple pinball tournaments all over the state of NC and recruiting new competitive players. His many altruistic ventures helped use pinball to raise money for causes such as the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program (ASAP) and others.This year's tournament will again focus on raising funds for Mental Health America of Central Carolinas (MHA) through the sale of raffle tickets and donations. Raffle tickets are available for purchase NOW via the link in the discussion. We have a super awesome grand prize of a BLACK KNIGHT PINBALL MACHINE (Williams, 1980) with more prizes to be added leading up to the day of the tournament! Proceeds from the raffle tickets and tournament entries will go directly to MHA in Kevin’s name. We are so proud and honored to be able to continue this event in to honor Kevin's legacy and his love of pinball and helping others.
