Kevin Selfe is an acclaimed blues guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter celebrated for his raw, primal "swampy" guitar tone and mastery of the genre. Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Selfe earned a degree in Meteorology from North Carolina State University before turning his full attention to a career in music. In 2007, he relocated to Portland, Oregon, where he quickly established himself as a prominent and highly influential force within the Pacific Northwest’s vibrant roots and blues community, captivating audiences with a powerful mix of traditional Delta grit and modern showmanship.
Fronting his powerhouse backing band, The Tornadoes, Selfe has earned extensive national and regional acclaim, including multiple inductions into the Cascade Blues Association Hall of Fame and an impressive eight Muddy Awards for Blues Act of the Year. His recorded catalog, featuring charting albums on respected labels like Delta Groove and VizzTone, highlights his exceptional songwriting and sharp musical storytelling. Maintaining strong momentum, Selfe won the 2026 CBA Journey To Memphis Competition and is scheduled to represent the Pacific Northwest region at the prestigious International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, in January 2027.
