DAVE
USA, 1993, Ivan Reitman
Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver star in this surprisingly stirring, Capraesque political comedy from the late director of Ghostbusters. Kline plays Dave Kovic, an American nobody who happens to look like the President of the United States. When the real Commander-in-Chief suffers a stroke, Dave is secretly recruited to occupy the Oval Office. Some unusual challenges await this impersonator in this faith-restoring gem. With Frank Langella, Ben Kingsley, Charles Grodin, Laura Linney, and Howard Metzenbaum. DCP. 110 min. Special admission $11; members, CIA & CSU I.D. holders, and those age 25 & under $8. No passes or twofers.
Important Covid requirement. All Cinematheque moviegoers must wear a mask for the duration of their visit. Learn more under the "Face Coverings" section at cia.edu/covid. As a reminder, filmgoers can park for free in Lot 73 and in the Institute's annex lot and should enter CIA via nearby Entrance C.
