There is NO reason in the world that anybody age 4 and over with a cognitive, intellectual and/or developmental disability cannot play on an ice hockey team in hockey-rich Massachusetts.

Not when they can play on The Great Blizzards of Massachusetts Special Hockey team.

This inclusive program has four locations - the Bog Ice Arena in Kingston, the Tony Kent Arena in S Dennis on the Cape, Larsen Skating Rink in Winthrop and Martha's Vineyard Arena in Oak Bluffs- and more than 100 players! Plus we have experienced special ed and hockey coaches to help with learn-to-skate and learn-to-play-hockey.

We have players with autism, Down Syndrome, Prader Willi, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, ADD, OCD and a host of genetic disorders and syndromes. All playing together as one team.

The Great Blizz team is a 501(c) non-profit public charity whose motto is NO Hockey Player Left Behind.

We not only coach ice hockey skills but we strive to teach teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, fairness, hard work and decision-making imperative to the game of ice hockey and the game of life.

Your contribution helps us pay for expensive ice time, uniforms and equipment and travel to national and international tournaments such as Special Hockey International in Toronto in March 2026 where we represent the best of Massachusetts.

In fact, the $40,000 we raised from the February 2024 Alumni game helped fund ice time, game jerseys and matching sox, equipment as well as trips to Ocean City, MD, twice to Bowdoin Maine, St Albans, VT and the USA Hockey Special Tournament in Wayne, NJ.

We are grateful to be a part of the Boston Bruins Alumni family and they as a part of our hockey family.
