Exploring the crucial role of dung beetles in soil health and their numerous benefits to farming and wildlife.
About this Event

Kent Wildlife Trust are delighted to be providing a series of free dung beetle/ soil health workshops this summer led by Sally-Ann Spence, UK expert in the field of these fascinating creatures (see DungBeetlesForFarmers.co.uk).

These are being held in the Dover area at various locations in July for an audience of farmers/landowners/graziers/equestrians/vets, etc.

They will explore the dung beetle’s many benefits to farming operations and consider any potential effects of, and options for, livestock treatments. The day shall consist of a couple of hours ‘classroom’ based, then after lunch (provided), we’ll take a look at the dung on-site to learn more about the beetles out in the field and what vital services they can provide for your soil, livestock, and for wildlife.

Dung beetles are estimated to provide a free service that saves the British cattle industry £367 million a year, primarily by promoting healthy pasture.

We’d love it if you could come along to one of the free workshops to learn more about these incredible mini ecosystem-engineers and what they can do for you.
