The ride starts at 8:30 am at the Keney Park Woodland Street entrance in Hartford, and we'll be getting there earlier (around 7:30am) for introductions, socializing, and a bicycle safety check. The ride is being planned in collaboration with Friends of Keney Park, Pastor AJ Johnson, and the BiCi Co. Community Bike Shop.
There will be a very short mini-ride with the little ones, and a 6 mile out-and-back ride in Keney Park on the multi-use trails and carriage roads. This ride will be accommodating for new riders and youth, meaning that it won't be a fast pace and we will be keeping off of roads with car traffic. Keney Park has a network of multi-use trails and carriage roads that are perfect for car-free riding and walking.
We ask that everyone over age 12 who wants to attend this ride #GetTheShot to help keep our community and this group of bicycle riders safe from COVID-19. If you are over age 12, but you are choosing not to get the COVID vaccination, please do not attend this ride.
