Ken & Brad’s annual backyard concert is back!
Join the Ken & Brad Kolodner Quartet, featuring longtime collaborators Alex Lacquement and Rachel Eddy, with very special guests Richie Stearns & Rosie Newton sharing the bill.
We’re especially thrilled to welcome back Richie & Rosie, returning to this backyard for the first time since 2015. Deeply rooted in the Ithaca old-time scene, their banjo-fiddle duo is driving, innovative and creative. They play a dazzling blend of old-time and original roots music. Richie’s connection with Ken & Brad goes back to the Meadowlark music camp in Maine where Brad first learned banjo from Richie!
The evening also celebrates the ongoing musical journey of Ken & Brad, whose partnership now spans 15 years. Their sound is built around the distinctive pairing of clawhammer banjo and hammered dulcimer—two rhythmic, percussive instruments that blur the line between melody and groove. Their new album Hand’s Cove (released July 10) draws from family history, long-held tunes, and new arrangements shaped by years of playing together.
The annual backyard concert has become one of our favorite traditions—a chance to slow down and share music in a relaxed, intimate setting. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, pack a picnic and your favorite beverage, and settle in for a summer evening of music under the trees. With the musicians just a few feet away it's the kind of up-close, communal experience that simply can't happen in a concert hall.
Ken & Brad Kolodner will play the first set, Richie & Rosie will play the second set - and then they'll join forces for an epic closer!
