Award winning singer songwriter Keith Greeninger and long time local favorites The Coffis Brothers are joined by legendary guitarist Nina Gerber for an evening of music at the Rio Theater on Saturday May 6th. As a singer-songwriter, Keith paints intricate portraits of the human condition with powerful melodic images, deep engaging guitar rhythms and husky, heart-wrenching vocals. His masterfully crafted tunes and powerful presence have earned him the top songwriting awards at the prestigious Telluride Blue Grass Festival, The Kerrville Folk Festival and The Napa Valley Folk Festival. Keith has toured the national Folk and Americana circuit extensively for over three decades. He’s performed at festivals and legendary venues, appeared on countless national radio shows, and shared stages with dozens of the country’s best-known artists. Keith’s records and personal appearances have garnered him a legion of devoted fans, and the respect, admiration and appreciation of music critics far and wide.
The Coffis Brothers
With their 2011 debut, The Coffis Brothers & the Mountain Men, the siblings introduced their mix of the new and the nostalgic, the contemporary and the classic. They began touring throughout Northern California, joined by a lineup that soon coalesced around bassist Aidan Collins, lead guitarist Kyle Poppen, and drummer Cory Graves. Gig by gig, the band's audience grew. Santa Cruz Weekly described the Coffis Brothers' energetic stage show as "one part Avett Brothers and one part early," with the San Francisco Chronicle praising the group's "easy rock vibe that’s actually hip." Meanwhile, follow-up albums like Wrong Side of the Road and Roll With It helped broadcast the band's sound well beyond California's borders.

After carving a career out of what some might call the shadows, guitarist Nina Gerber is at last beginning to dare the light. Since her accompaniment of Kate Wolf first earned her recognition, her acute skills as performer, producer and arranger have continued to deepen. Her contributions to acoustic music have earned her a following as loyal as for the numerous high talents she has accompanied - proving the shadows equal to the spotlight in the creation of honest, powerful, and beautiful music.
