In celebration of the opening of "Keith Duncan: Battle of the Bands," join us for an Exhibition Walkthrough led by artist Keith Duncan.
Duncan’s most recent body of work celebrates the vibrant tradition of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) marching bands. The exhibition features large-scale fabric paintings of fifteen HBCU bands, human-scale fabric paintings of each band’s drum major and works on paper depicting drum majors.
During the tour, learn about Duncan’s inspiration for the series, his creative process and innovative techniques. Following the walkthrough, Duncan will be on hand to sign copies of the exhibition catalog (available for purchase in the Museum Store).
