Celebrate the holiday season with a Nutcracker-inspired story, craft, and simple dance demo by local author Mary Lou Sanelli.
About this Event

Local author Mary Lou Sanelli has published her first children's story ~ Bella Likes to Try. A little girl named Bella is looking for that one thing she could be good at. She tries different sports and activities until she takes a ballet class and auditions for The Nutcracker show. This is a great story about children exploring their interests and persevering. A craft, simple dance demo, and book signing follows the author's reading.

About the book:

Bella’s mom encouraged her to try many different things… and Bella did! A wonderful story about finding your interests and making the effort to grow and get better at what you like to do. Also perfect for inspiration for little ballerinas in time for the holidays!

About the author:

Mary Lou Sanelli is an author, speaker, and dance teacher who has published seven collections of poetry and three works of non-fiction. Honorariums include an Artist Trust GAP Award, Poetry on the Buses, A Jack Straw Writers Award, A Seattle Bumbershoot Festival Book Award, and a GoodReads Notable Book Award. She is a regular columnist for Art Access magazine, City Living, Lilipoh magazine, the Queen Anne / Magnolia News, and she contributes to Dance Teacher magazine, the Seattle Times, and National Public Radio. Bella Likes to Try is her first children’s book.
