Keeping Stamford Healthy Gala Honoring Dr. Michael & Mrs. Patricia Parry

Stamford History Center will be honoring Dr. Michael Parry and Mrs. Patricia Parry over wine, Hors d'oeuvres, Dinner and Dessert on May 9th at 6 p.m.

Dr. Michael Parry is an infectious diseases physician who has been practicing medicine for over 50 years. He established the Infectious Diseases Division at Stamford Hospital in 1976 and has overseen dramatic changes in the field since coming to Stamford. He was at the forefront of the AIDS epidemic, Lyme Disease, Legionnaires disease, West Nile and COVID. He is also known for his work in hospital epidemiology, proper antibiotic use, immunization, and tropical/travel medicine. Born in England and raised in Southern California, Dr.Parry received his BA degree from Yale University, his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his residency at the University of California in San Francisco and Presbyterian Hospital in NewYork. He is currently the Thomas J. Bradsell Chair of Infectious Diseases at Stamford Hospital.

Patricia(Davis Bill)Parry,was born and raised in Stamford. She graduated from Stamford Catholic High School and St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in New York City. Pat’s career included working at Boston City Hospital’s ED and St. Joseph Medical Center’s ED, pediatric, medical and special care units, then dialysis and finally clinical research. She was a member of the City of Stamford Health Commission for 20 years. Pat is the Gold Star Mother of Navy SEAL Chief Brian R. Bill, was killed in action on August 6, 2011, in Afghanistan. She is a founding member of Stamford Veterans Park Partnership which has overseen the redesign and renovation of Stamford Veterans Park and was recipient of their Patriot Award in 2022. Pat is currently president of the Connecticut Department of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc.
