Rise and Shine! Join us for a rare opportunity to see birds up close at Woodberry Wetlands with a bird ringing demo.
About this Event

Bird ringing is a harmless monitoring technique where a lightweight ring is placed around a bird’s leg, allowing researchers to identify individual birds and track information about their survival, migration, and productivity. 🐦

Specially trained ringers will introduce you to the equipment and methods used and demonstrate how different measurements are taken.

You’ll learn how ringing contributes to our understanding of changes in populations of birds, and of course see some beautiful birds up close!

➡️The process is strictly regulated and carried out by trained and licensed individuals to ensure there’s no harm to the birds.

➡️Demonstration is subject to suitable weather conditions. In the event of rain or winds the demo may be cancelled or shortened for the welfare of the birds.
