Keep for Cheaps special blend of indie, country, rock, and pop has a little something for everyone. Playing what they call prairie-rock, the Minnesota five-pieces playful sound will make you feel like a kid, then break your heart with its next turn of phrase. With the release of their sophomore album Big Grass the band strives to make music that moves, with driving instrumentals and poignant nostalgia-stirring lyrics. Drawing at times from their own love story, fronting members Kate and Autumn write music to make you pine over queer love and passing youth, seek inspiration in the natural world and connection wherever it can be made.Latchkey Kids Year of Summers is a modern Greek tragedy about growing up and falling out of love in New Jersey. On their sophomore album, Hanny Ramadan narrates a staggering emo epic that comes alive at basement shows and in beat-up cars, with guitarist Joey Grzybowski and drummer Cyle Morris soaring alongside him. An emotionally ferocious yet tender song cycle about grief, identity, and resilience in the face of an uncertain future, Year of Summers aims straight for the heart with bombastic hooks and sharp storytelling.
