Kaz Yokou Kitajima: Sogetsu Ikebana Demonstration

Bellosguardo is thrilled to host a Sogetsu Ikebana demonstration by Kaz Yokou Kitajima.

Huguette Clark, the last owner of Bellosguardo, was extremely fond of all things Japanese. This can be seen in both her paintings and her collection of “hina” dolls and elaborate custom-made models of Japanese homes and castles.

Along with an open house, complimentary sushi bar hors d'oeuvres, wine, sake, and beer will be served.

Kaz Yokou Kitajima is celebrating more than 50 years as a Sogetsu Ikebana master, landscape designer, and artist. His themes include disassembly and rearranging; compositions using unconventional materials; arrangements contrasting straight and curved lines.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

There is no pedestrian access to Bellosguardo. All guests must arrive via a personal vehicle or rideshare/taxi/car service.

Gates open at 3:00 p.m., please do not arrive early or enter the property without approval of Bellosguardo staff. All personal vehicles will be valet parked on property.

We look forward to your visit! Please respect our staff and volunteers. Bellosguardo Foundation does not tolerate inappropriate behavior, including, but not limited to: yelling, violence, intimidation, threats, harassment, aggression, swearing, damage, abuse, or sexual harassment. Individuals who are aggressive toward staff or other visitors will be escorted off the property.

• No outside food or drinks are permitted, with the exception of water.
• Sensible footwear, sun protection, and appropriate jacket or sweater are strongly recommended.
• Service Animals are not pets. Emotional Support Animals do not qualify as Service Animals. Apart from trained service animal(s) and/or psychiatric service animal(s) as defined and regulated by the Americans with Disabilities Act, domestic animals are not permitted anywhere at Bellosguardo and cannot be left unattended in parked vehicles during your visit.
• Bellosguardo is a smoke-free environment. Smoking or vaping is not permitted.
• By entering Bellosguardo, you acknowledge and accept all risks associated with your visit, including but not limited to risk of personal injury and illness.
• Individuals without tickets may not remain in a parked vehicle on property during a visit.
• The event takes place rain or shine, plan accordingly.
• All ticket sales are final.
