Kawang Tropical Adventure RaceEvent Overview:
This is a team-based adventure race. Each team consists of two athletes, and there are two categories:
• Men’s Team
• Mixed Team (one male and one female participant)
Each team must include one runner and one cyclist.
The Race:
1. The runner starts the race by completing an 11km trail route.
2. At the end of the trail, the runner meets the cyclist at the start of the tubing section.
3. Both team members will then float together in tubes down a 3.5km river (be prepare to get wet)to Transition 1 at Mondikot Campsite.
4. At Transition 1, the cyclist begins a 30km cycling route, returning to the same transition point. The runner waitsat the campsite.
5. Once the cyclist returns, both team members will complete a 6.8km basic orienteering course together to reach the finish line.
6. The first team to finish wins.
5KM Fun Trail Run:
This category is open to participants of all ages, especially beginners who want to experience trail running.
It’s a 100% natural trail set in the heart of the tropical rainforest.
Eligibility:
• Men’s Team: Open to males aged 18 and above
• Mixed Team: Open to participants aged 18 and above, and must include one male
and one female
Event Objective:
To promote local tourism and community-based initiatives in the area, and to raise awareness about our tropical rainforest, especially among the younger generation.
