Kav Summer Players is a THREE-WEEK, FULL DAY musical theatre intensive at D’Youville Kavinoky Theatre, running July 6–July 25 for ages 12-17. Camp meets Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM, and culminates in fully staged performances of High School Musical on July 24 and July 25.
Designed for dedicated young artists, this program blends structured classes with hands-on rehearsal. Students receive training in acting, vocal performance, movement, and ensemble collaboration while working toward a polished public production. The educational model reflects best practices in arts education, where skill-building is integrated directly into the rehearsal process, increasing both learning retention and performance confidence.
All enrolled students participate in the full daily schedule of classes and rehearsals. Students interested in technical theatre or crew assignments are required to take all camp classes as part of the program. This ensures every participant develops a foundational understanding of performance, storytelling, and production while contributing meaningfully to the final show.
The program concludes with live performances of High School Musical on July 24 and 25, giving students the opportunity to apply their training in front of an audience in a professional theatre setting.
