We’ve all heard the excuses from Legislators. “We ran out of time!”; “I worked hard to get that bill passed, but we just didn’t have the votes”; “You just don’t understand how the system works”; “It’s complicated”. True Texas Project is pulling back the curtain on the Games People Play in the Texas Legislature, and explaining all the tricks and gimmicks that are used to create excuses for not doing what we want them to do.Join us as we take a close look at each step in the legislative process, and how our law makers use tricks and gimmicks to fool us into thinking they’re doing the right thing. Knowing how your legislator votes is important, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle. You need to know what happens behind the scenes, and how things really move before that final vote is ever taken. Fran Rhodes, TTP President, will show you what to look for and how to push back.
