About The Artist
I’m a Lancashire based oil painter with a classical training in sculpture. My subjects are various: figures, carefully arranged still-life objects, landscapes, painted quickly in the field or laboured over in the studio. What unites them is a particular approach to paint. I try to carefully observe and reproduce colour from life, mixed cleanly on the palette and laid down to create a varied surface of alternating high detail and broad ‘messy’ brushwork.
I return often to particular motifs: empty, lonely, nostalgic landscapes, text that becomes alien typography where you might be expecting explicit meaning. I want to create artwork which is loaded with the subjective experience of the artist but with enough breadth for the viewer to formulate their own connection with the subject and the raw stuff of paint
About Liverpool Art Fair
Liverpool Art Fair is back at the Royal Liver Building this summer, showcasing a record 245 local artists across six weeks of free entry, creative workshops, and the chance to own an original piece of art for as little as £25.
Now in its 12th year, the fair runs from 12th June to 26th July 2026, open seven days a week, 12–5pm, with free entry throughout. Since launching at Camp and Furnace in 2012, Liverpool Art Fair has welcomed almost 70,000 art lovers and showcased the work of over 2,700 artists, facts that reflect the enduring appetite for affordable, accessible art in the region.
This year’s fair brings together the largest group of exhibiting artists in the event’s history, selected from an open call open to artists living within a 35-mile radius of Liverpool. With works starting at just £25 and a substantial section dedicated to pieces under £250, the fair continues to make original art genuinely accessible to everyone, from first-time buyers to seasoned collectors.
