Alejandro Rutty
Composer and bassist Alejandro Rutty is best-known for his distinctive mix of South American styles, lyrical melodies, meticulous rhythmic detail, and exotic textures. His recent output includes solos, duos, trios and quartets for extended-range electric bass, which he performs by himself or with other bassists. Catch him at this and other shows on his “Why Bass?” tour this fall!
Kat Farley and Friends (String Remix)
Taking inspiration from folk, musical theatre, and Americana, composer and singer-songwriter Kat Farley loves to mix things up! While she enjoys playing with guitars as much as anyone else, her recent work focuses on instrumentation that pushes against the norms of popular music genres.
For this show, she will be joined by violinist and composer Clem Pearson, violist Miles Fowler, cellist Cori Trenczer, and bassist Haydn Eaton to perform “chamber pop” arrangements of her original songs. The eclectic band blends elements of popular and classical music together, creating a sound that is richly textured and alive with movement. And as a special treat, they may even debut a new original composition by Clem Pearson!
