Kassidy’s Rally & “Ride By” Bike Wish

Schedule

Sat Sep 21 2024 at 06:00 pm

Location

Tim Hortons (503 WENTWORTH ST W, Oshawa, ON, Canada) | Oshawa, ON

Kassidy LW had made a recent Facebook post in hopes of making a special request in honour of her late Grandfather. She wanted to give her family and Grandmother a special moment that reflected her Grandpa in a meaningful way. What better way then to ask for a group of riders to parade by her grandmother’s place in tribute to Chester her grandfather.
I have talked with Kassidy and offered to help her make this into a possibility. I’m sure with the help of many in motorcycling communities nearby we can surely find some people willing to make an appearance and make Kassidy’s wish come true!
The meeting place will be the Tim Hortons at 503 Wentworth St W, Oshawa, ON L1J 6G5 for 6pm. We are targeting KSU @ 6:30pm when the family is likely to be done dinner about that time. The home is only a short 2 minutes ride from our starting point. Once the parade of bikes has made their “ride by” then a return loop will be made back towards the Tim’s Hortons. If you so wish to disperse immediately after the ride by then feel free to be on your way!
To everyone who wishes to take part in this small effort to grant a simple wish for a loving granddaughter. Thank you and ride safe! ?
Here is Kassidy’s back story about her Grandpa Chester…
He was from Maine, came to Ontario and married my grandma. Has been super involved in the bike community for years and years. Every summer him and my grandma would hop on his bike and drive from Oshawa to Medicine Hat, AB. It was so cool. They would finally show up so sun burnt hahaha. Rain or shine it took just under 3 days.
He taught me how to be forgiving but to also not deal with more shit than you should from people. It’s a very important lesson that keeps me sane. He would take me for rides on the back of the bike from the time I was 6 or 7 years old and I was never scared. We would ride for hours, to different towns around Alberta. Just to ride. It was so special.
When he got sick it was during Covid and he went downhill really fast. It was like he was sick and then he died the next day. There are people who say, “some people really just don’t deserve to die yet” and that is a perfect example of one. He was the kindest, most caring person in the world. Towards everybody, good or bad.

Where is it happening?
