Kashaka Workshop with Jon Sterckx
Learn to play Kashaka techniques and rhythms with percussionist Jon Sterckx.
Kashaka are a fantastic instrument – they are a simple shaker but are also capable of some amazingly complex rhythms and are a lot of fun to play. The workshop will be suitable for beginners & for kashaka players looking to expand and develop their kashaka playing.
Learn to play Kashaka (Asalato) techniques, shakes, swings, spins, clicks and rhythmic patterns. Players who already play Kashaka will be taught more advanced techniques, patterns and exercises to improve and develop their playing further.
Kashaka of various sizes will be available to use in the workshop. Or bring your own.
