Visą vasarį muziejaus galeriją puoš Karolinos Šiburkytės juvelyrikos, foto ir video koliažų paroda TYLUSIS PAVASARIS.Nuo vasario 1 iki 28 dienos Marijos ir Jurgio Šlapelių namo – muziejaus galerija tampa Vilniaus miesto savivaldybės iniciatyvos – šiuolaikinio meno pažinimo projekto SU-MENĖK – dalimi.
Kiekvieną galerijos darbo dieną ir savaitgaliais kviesime nemokamai aplankyti išskirtinę menininkės Karolinos Šiburkytės parodą TYLUSIS PAVASARIS.
Parodos pavadinimas – tai aliuzija į to paties pavadinimo Rachel Carson knygą (Silent Spring), išleistą 1962-aisiais. Didelę įtaką aplinkosaugos judėjimui padariusioje knygoje nagrinėtas neigiamas pesticidų poveikis aplinkai.
Parodos ašis – klimato krizė ir kūrėjos refleksijos. Karolinos kūriniuose neišvengiamai atsispindi, kokį liūdesį, nerimą ir kartais bejėgystę tai kelia. Tai tarsi melancholiška refleksija per jau galima sakyti simboliais tapusius poveikius gyvąjai gamtai (ledynų tirpimą, žmogaus nepaliestų miškų mažėjimą, rūšių nykimą).
Karolinos kūryba tampa savitu apsivalymu, kamuojančių minčių ir vaizdų paleidimu.
Kartu su juvelyrika bus eksponuojami fotografijų koliažai iš įvairių Lietuvos gamtos kampelių. Žvilgsnis per metų laikų kismą – tarsi odė aplinkai. Tam, ką vis dar turime, bet galbūt rytoj jau neberasime. Paroda kvies pažvelgti į pasaulį ir iš vilties perspektyvos – naujai įvertinti ir tausoti.
Karolina jau daugiau kaip dešimtmetį – žinoma juvelyrikos profesionalė. Tačiau skulptūros studijos Vilniaus dailės akademijoje ir trijų dimensijų dizaino studijos Didžiojoje Britanijoje (Manchester Metropolitan University) neišvengiamai suteikia kūrėjai ne tik gilų meno ir dizaino lauko išmanymą, bet ir galimybę atsispyrus nuo žemės – studijų ir patirčių bagažo – kurti išskirtinius kūrinius – istorijas.
Nenuostabu, kad parodos koncepcijai sustiprinti menininkė pasirinko autorinę fotografiją ir video meną. Subtilios prabangos juvelyrikos kūriniai tarsi kalbasi su Karolinos akimis ir širdimi pagautais vaizdais ir garsais. Net užsimerkti nereikia – patenki į sakralios dermės erdvę, kurią noris apglėbti širdimi ir išsaugoti. Ne tik sau – pasauliui ir artimiems.

Silent Spring: Karolina Šiburkytė’s jewellery, photo and video collage exhibition
From February 1st to 28th, 2025, the Marija and Jurgis Šlapelis Museum Gallery will become part of the contemporary art awareness project SU-MENĖK. Every day and on weekends, you will have the opportunity to experience the exclusive exhibition „Silent Spring“ by artist Karolina Šiburkytė .
The exhibition’s title ‘Silent Spring’ alludes to Rachel Carson’s 1962 book by the same name. This book greatly influenced the environmental movement and examined the negative impact of pesticides on the environment.
The exhibition’s main theme is the climate crisis and the artist’s reflections on it. Her works inevitably reflect the sadness, anxiety, and sometimes helplessness that this crisis causes. They are like melancholic reflections on the already symbolic effects on living nature (melting glaciers, the decline of forests untouched by man, the extinction of species).
Karolina’s work becomes a kind of purification, releasing tormenting thoughts and images.
Along with the jewellery, photographic collages of Lithuanian nature are exhibited— the artist’s gaze at the changing seasons, an ode to nature. All that we still have but may no longer have tomorrow. The exhibition allows us to look at the world from a perspective of hope to re-evaluate and cherish.
Karolina has been a renowned jewellery professional for over a decade. Moreover, studies of sculpture at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA) and the Three-Dimensional Design studies in United Kingdom (Manchester Metropolitan University) inevitably gave the creator not only a deep knowledge of the field of art and design but also the opportunity to create exceptional works–stories based on her experiences.
It is not surprising that the artist chose her photography and video art to strengthen the concept of the exhibition. The luxury of delicate jewellery pieces seems to speak to images and sounds captured by Karolina’s eyes and heart. You do not need to close your eyes – you enter a space of sacred harmony that you want to embrace with your heart and preserve for yourself, the world and your loved ones.
