Karin Plato is a Canadian Juno nominated jazz vocalist and recording artist. She has performed throughout Canada and in the western USA for concert societies and at jazz festivals. She works as a composer, arranger and music educator. She has three times been nominated Canadian Jazz Vocalist of the Year at the National Jazz Awards and she is a West Coast Music Award nominee. Karin has released nine independent recordings of jazz and blues standards and her original songs.
The KP Trio performs an eclectic program of jazz standards, bossa nova, original songs, and arrangements of pop and traditional songs. This is accessible music with some delightful surprises for the audience. You may rediscover a song you heard in the past. You may hear the debut of a new song.
In 2020 Karin’s recording “This Could Be the One”, featuring the Karin Plato Quintet was selected as a “record to die for” by Robert Deutsch in the Stereophile Magazine.
