Kansas River Adventure - Junction to Ogden - The Headwaters!
About this Event
Join Compass Point home of Dirty Girl Adventures for a Kansas River Adventure to the Headwaters on Sunday August 23rd!
The Kaw is our favorite place to spend time in nature and we can't wait to share it with you. We will paddle the Mighty Kaw from Junction City to Ogden. We will launch onto the Republican River which joins the Smoky Hill River creating the headwaters of the Kansas River. This section of the Kaw is more narrow than most and offers views of the Flint Hills as well as the opportunity to see wildlife along the way. Time on the Kaw is also a wonderful time to make connections with friends both old and new.
Because the trip to Junction City seems far for the Dirty Bus, (200 mile round trip and almost 5 hours of driving) this adventure will involve cooperation from everyone so that we can carpool for the shuttling between locations. This means that if you are sharing a ride with someone, whether you are an OYO or not, we'd like you to come to Junction to drop your passengers and gear. We will endeavor to leave as few vehicles as possible at the Junction location.
We will send an email to all registrants 24 hours prior to the event. All details, including location, may change based on weather and river conditions.
