It is a rare opportunity to be able to improve a beautiful old thing.
Guitar shows have been around for a long time. They are wonderful events that allow guitar owners, collectors and players to look at each others instruments and offerings. Friends are made there. Friends re-connect there. That is all good and we want to make it a little better.
We have added quality media. Our project “Every Guitar Has A Story” is capturing great guitars through the voices of the owners that can tell the story of how that instrument got here. You can see the guitar and that is nice, but it is so satisfying to get a glimpse of the connection that guitar has to the human on camera with it.
Another improvement is location. Why do guitar shows require a long drive out of the populated areas? We have changed that with The KC Guitar Show at Ward Parkway. The guitar show has moved into town. We will occupy a large shop inside the mall. Great parking. Great security. Restaurants and other shopping changes the feel.
Finally, the guitar shows never tell you what is coming. Of course you can buy, sell or trade guitars, but what guitars?
The KC Guitar Show is a month away. We are excited to say you can meet Steve Scorfina, a real rock star (REO Speedwagon and Pavov’s Dog) and you can see part of his amazing collection. He said he will sell some great guitars at a wide range of prices, but that includes his 1932 Rickenbacker Fry Pan. That is the first electric guitar to hit the market.
We are proud to introduce you to Hal Hammer. He will bring a historic collection, also for sale. He will also be showing some beauties from North American Guitar Company.
Fountain City Guitarworks is a Kansas City company all guitar owners should know. They can fix what is broken or build something new.
Viking Guitar Worx is debuting a new 13 pin synth guitar called “MidniteHammer” You cannot buy this guitar. I am buying this guitar. Don’t argue about this, please. Just ask him to make another one or buy some of the others he will bring.
When you come, please say hello to Alonzo Beardshear from Lawrence, KS.
Enjoying the conversations is part of a guitar show. I have been in his basement. I will vouch for the unique collection of instruments.
More vendors are coming. There are a few spots left.
Here’s an inside tip. Don’t buy tickets to attend yet.
There will be some special deals in about a week.
If you have a cool axe with a story, please contact us to get on camera.
