Version française à venirSince the late nineteenth century, ironworking has been central to the livelihood and legacy of the Kanien’kehá:ka. Generations of Ratirihstakéhronon (ironworkers) have travelled across North America, shaping skylines with skill, courage, and deep community ties.
In conjunction with the lobby exhibition Sky-High Trust: Kanien'kehá:ka Ironworkers photographed by David Grant Noble presented by the Visual Arts Collection, this lunchtime talk brings together two ironworkers from different generations to share stories, knowledge, and lived experience from this powerful lineage of ironworkers.
Light refreshments offered after the talk at the exhibition space. Please note that this talk will be in English.
Event organized in collaboration with the Office of Indigenous Initiatives (OII).
Location: McLennan Library Building (3459 McTavish Street, Montreal, Quebec H3A 0C9), fourth floor, Rare Books and Special Collections, Colgate Room.
