Kalimba The Spirit of Earth Wind & Fire
A Tribute to Earth Wind & Fire
Free show at the Spokane Pavilion in celebration of Expo ’74 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Kalimba - The Spirit of Earth Wind and Fire provides an experience so satisfying it transports audiences back to the excitement of the first time they heard these unforgettable songs. Reproducing the infectious grooves created by EWF’s late founder Maurice White, Kalimba pays homage to Maurice with its exciting stage and lighting production. The show authentically replicates the signature high notes of Philip Bailey, the thick vocals harmonies of Maurice and Ralph Johnson, along with the grooving bass lines of Verdine White. Kalimba has the soul, spirit, musicianship, love and talent of the original – their energetic performance will leave you completely satisfied!
About Expo ’74
In 1974, Spokane became the smallest city in history to host the World’s Fair. As an environmentally focused event, the Spokane World’s Fair sparked a transformation in the heart of our city that became the catalyst for sustainable growth in our region.
Businesses, organizations, and community members have come together to organize an exciting calendar of events, with each event falling into one of the five categories mirroring the original key pillars: Expo Legacy, Environmental Stewardship, Tribal Culture, Recreation & Sport, and Arts & Culture.
As we look toward the future, this celebration aims to reignite the nostalgia of this international milestone in Spokane’s history and invite new generations to carry the mantle of creating a cleaner and brighter tomorrow.
