Golden Age on the Edge! An Interactive NeuroArts Concert Experience with Sasha Gusikhin is an intergenerational, participatory concert experience that explores the powerful connection between music, the brain, health and human connection.
Blending Golden Age musical theater, jazz, classical repertoire and free improvisation with accessible insights from neuroscience and NeuroArts, the experience invites audience members of all ages to move beyond simply watching a performance and become active collaborators in creating it.
Through sing-alongs, collective breathing, storytelling, spontaneous music-making and live improvisation, participants experience firsthand how creative engagement can support connection, self-expression and well-being. Audience-generated words, stories and ideas may even become the inspiration for music created together in real time.
Woven throughout the performance are engaging insights into how the brain responds to music and creative participation, helping audiences experience and understand the connections between artistic engagement, health and well-being.
Golden Age on the Edge! creates a welcoming space where generations can sing, listen, create and connect together—demonstrating the potential of the arts to support individual and community well-being.
