Fachwerk Recordings Release Party: Mike Dehnert & Marivs
Berlin’s legendary Fachwerk Recordings lands at Rhythm Space for an uncompromising night of stripped-back techno. We celebrate the launch of a special split EP featuring the label’s visionary boss, Mike Dehnert, alongside Marivs.
Expect the signature Fachwerk sound: raw, loop-driven, and relentlessly functional. Join us as we bring the spirit of Berlin to the dancefloor to mark this landmark collaboration. Performances will be on vinyl, in true Kaleidoscope fashion.

Since 2007, Berlin native Mike Dehnert has run raw Techno label Fachwerk Records, MD2 and a more house oriented subdivision called Colomabge. The imprints’ mission is simple: to release their own take on raw, floor techno. And so they have done, on 50 different occasions, earning both the label and the artists behind it the respect of in-the-know, serious techno fans the world over. Dehnert’s own productions (often informed by his grubby, dub infused and textured live techno sets at institutions such as Berghain and Tresor) have also been unleashed on the world via other respected imprints including Clone Records, Echochord Colour, Deeply Rooted House and Delsin.

Transylvanian-born Marivs stands as a pillar of Toronto's underground techno scene. A purist and seasoned selector, he founded Kaleidoscope, a vinyl-only event series that champions authentic underground techno. His journey began in the early 90s, spinning various electronic formats at Romanian radio stations before securing club residencies that honed his crowd-reading abilities. Since relocating to Toronto in 2013, his productions have garnered support from techno luminaries, with releases on respected labels. Behind the decks, Marivs delivers dark, driving sets that remain delicately balanced, each telling its own unique story.
A zero plastic waste policy will be in effect that night: bring your own reusable cup or purchase one there. Tap water will be provided for free.
