About this Event

KALAP Volunteer training familiarizes participants with all of KALAP’s services and numerous ways volunteers can help carry KALAP’s mission into the Kansas Legal Community. Training reviews Supreme Court Rule 233 and highlights KALAP’s history and mission, as well as the confidentiality protections that volunteers must uphold for KALAP clients and immunities offered for KALAP volunteers. Training also builds practical skills for volunteers who work directly with KALAP clients; focusing on active listening, healthy boundaries and burnout awareness to effectively provide compassionate support to KALAP clients.
