What happens on unregulated bush tracks can quickly threaten horses far beyond the finish line. On Tuesday, October 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Kentucky Association of Equine Practitioners (KAEP) will bring this urgent issue into focus during “Underground and Unregulated: Bush Track Racing and its Implications on Equine Health” at Spy Coast Farm’s Equine Education Center in Lexington. Keynote presenter Angela Pelzel-McCluskey, DVM, MS, will reveal how unsanctioned racing contributes to the spread of Equine Infectious Anemia and Equine Piroplasmosis—and share practical ways veterinarians can recognize risks and help stop disease transmission. The event is made possible through the support of Keeneland.
Equine veterinarians, industry professionals and horse owners are encouraged to join this timely, candid conversation about protecting horse health and welfare—and safeguarding the integrity of sanctioned racing. Bring your questions, connect with colleagues and leave better prepared to respond to these emerging threats. Dinner is included. Tickets are $40 for KAEP members and $45 for non-members;

🎟️Tickets are $40 for KAEP/KTFMC members and $45 for non-KAEP/KTFMC members.
