Where Tradition Meets the Power of Post-Rock
Experience the boundary-pushing sound of Dongyang Gozupa, one of Korea's most innovative contemporary bands.
Following their acclaimed London debut in 2021, the trio returns to the UK with an even more dynamic and immersive live performance as part of their latest UK and European tour. Alongside their signature repertoire, audiences will be among the first to hear new music from the band's forthcoming release.
Blending the distinctive sound of the yanggeum with bass, percussion and immersive electronic textures, Dongyang Gozupa creates a powerful, rhythm-driven musical landscape rooted in progressive and post-rock while drawing inspiration from Korean tradition. Their wordless performances invite audiences into an expressive and ever-evolving sonic journey that transcends genres and cultures.
Recognised as a WOMEX Official Showcase Artist in both 2020 and 2021, the band has since performed at leading international festivals and venues, including WOMAD Chile, the Rainforest World Music Festival, London's Southbank Centre, and Lincoln Center in New York.
