K-12 Educators: You’re invited! This event invites educators to gather for professional learning, inspiration, and connection in a unique museum setting. Through engagement with Indigenous community partners and educational resources, participants will explore strategies for fostering belonging, connection, and meaningful community in their classrooms. Participants will also receive a certificate for three hours of professional development credit.
The evening includes exclusive after-hours access to our new exhibition, Wisdom from the Future, plus a guided tour led by Heard Museum Curator Olivia Barney (Diné) and a musical performance by cellist Loralynn Yazzie (Diné).
This K-12 Educator Night also features a special workshop and interactive presentation by the Office of Indian Education, highlighting Zaretta Hammond’s Culture Tree framework while providing valuable insights and important context related to Native American student data and Indigenous cultural considerations.
